CAYMAN ISLANDS

Formerly a dependency of Jamaica, the Cayman Islands issued its own stamps in November 1900. These key plate type stamps depicting Queen Victoria were replaced in 1902 by a definitive series with the portrait of King Edward VII. The first commemorative stamps consisting of a set of 12 values were issued in 1932, to mark the centenary of the Assembly of Justices and Vestry”. The modern stamps of this Overseas Territory are thematically oriented and very often have local relevance focusing on topics such as flora and fauna
