TEIBERT at Danzig on 12 FEBRUARY 1779 * 30 sous tariff hand-written on address side — French ENTRY handstamp “D’HOLLANDE” unusually Very Fine – most likely this letter was carried with other merchants letters sent to some Forwarding Agent – using BOTENSCHAFTEN VIA HAMBURG where several such services and intermediaries were amalgamated in 1821 to form the STADTPOST – at AMSTERDAM another FORWARDING AGENT PLACED THE LETTER IN THE POST OFFICE MAIL STREAM.
