Honouring Carlo Lorenzini (aka Collodi) – Special postmark featuring the Fairy Godmather Fata Turchina – initially Trieste was to issue the Italian stamp with the AMG FTT overprint but the end of the Allied Military Government administration came about – the overprinted stamps were destroyed except 2 sheets – The few overprinted Pinocchios that made it to the market are rare (present retail value $15,000 +++)
