Description

ALBERT LEBOURG (1849-1928): created more than 2,000 landscape paintings during his lifetime and earned a great reputation. Pissarro was instrumental in helping Lebourg establish his name. Lebourg worked mainly in Paris, Rouen and in the Eure district. In 1872 Lebourg exhibited in Rouen and shortly after decided to take up a post as Drawing Professor in Algeria for five years. Pictured here is a maximum card with the stamp issued in 2013 by France to celebrate paintings with a “water” theme: in this case Lerbourg’s ROUEN PORT.
